What to expect

We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions,

don't hesitate to contact us or reach out to one of our volunteers who will greet you as you arrive.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Clothes. God is more focused on what's on the inside than what you are wearing on the outside.

You will see people wearing all sorts of things. Just be you!

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

There are 3 parking lots that are located off W. 5th Street and Wayne Ave, these lots are available each Sunday for you to park in. You will see Gospel Parking signs next to each lot. There is also plenty of on-street parking on Broadway.

For those needing handicap parking, that is located directly in front of Gospel on W. 5th Street.

WHAT DOOR DO I ENTER?

There are two doors of entrance, both at the front of the building. You will see a sign for the Family/Handicap entrance, this entrance is designated for families that will be checking their children in and dropping them off at Kid City (0-5th grade) and for those who need a ramp to enter the building. The other entrance says Worship and is for those who desire to go directly into the auditorium and are able to climb a few stairs.

Please arrive early, grab a cup of coffee and check out some books in the Book Stall.

WHERE DO MY CHILDREN GO?

KID CITY is the perfect place for your children, infant through fifth grade, to go while you attend service. When you enter  the building there will be several volunteers that will greet you and help you get your kids checked in to the right rooms. The person who drops your child off, will be the only person who can pick them up. We go to extremes to provide a safe & caring place for your children. Every Kid City volunteer has been evaluated and background checked. Your kids and our kids are worth it!

AM I EXPECTED TO PUT MONEY IN THE OFFERING BASKET?

No, actually we would love for you to fill out a Connection Card that you will find in your worship guide.

If you are a first or second time guest please fill out as much information as you feel comfortable giving

and drop it in the basket as it goes by.

IS THERE ANY SPECIAL ASSISTANCE FOR HEARING IMPAIRED?

Yes! For those who are hearing impaired, we have special hearing devices that you can wear that will allow you to control the volume. If you think this would be beneficial to you, please contact the church office, so we can have one ready for you when you come.

HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?

The services typically last for 1 hour and 15 minutes. While this will vary slightly from week to week, we try to be respectful of your time with family and the other things you may have planned on Sundays.

WHAT IS THE SERVICE LIKE?

We often incorporate a mixture of brand-new songs and songs that have served the church for centuries but have been updated for a new generation; we listen to biblical teaching (Christ Centered) that engages both mind and heart in a culturally appropriate way, and spend some time in corporate confession/reflection.

HOW CAN I TALK WITH A PASTOR?

In a lot of larger churches, things can sometimes feel a little impersonal, but our pastors want to get to know you and your family personally. The best way to do this is simply to fill out a Connection Card on Sunday morning and a pastor will contact you very soon after. You can also email them by following the link here: office@gbcgreenville.org . Finally, on Sunday morning, you can reach out to one of the volunteers who greet you before the service or simply stop one of the pastors after the service.
